I Will ASSUME It Was The Wind

 30

30000

It happened again.  Yesterday, the lovely stickwords were CLEARLY disrupted by a human because one of the words was not just kicked aside -  but CHANGED to a different word.  Like... REALLY?

Today, the new words that I placed yesterday were disheveled -  but it was CRAZY WINDY -  so I'm going to ASSUME that was the reason.  At any rate:

and I couldn't help but say Good Morning to TALL WEED!

Well, THAT was Special!

 28

28000

First, some background.

Last year, when we first moved into our new home in November, I started leaving "stickwords" while on my walk.  My sister and I used to do something similar -  words drawn in sand or snow or even made with pine needles -  So I left a word... then a second word... and then one day, SOMEONE ELSE left a word!  Another "stickworder" in the wild!

Well... fast forward to 2025.  On Jan. 2,  I left the stickword "JOY".   We had gotten some good news about Ken's cancer -  and that is what I felt.  Soon after the weather turned CRAZY -  wind, snow, rain.. and the stickword was brushed away.

TODAY while walking I saw the stickword LOVE -  left by someone -  NOT ME lol...

HOW EXCITING!  And it was left in the exact same place that I used to leave STICKWORDS!

So -  I wandered into the woods to find sticks to leave a reply!

... and that made it a very special walk today!

A Walk in the Park

 27

27000

I took my walk in the park because it was in the MID FORTIES!!  Out of the below freezing temps finally!   There wasn't much to see -  some vultures that were enjoying the day -  frozen bogs -  knees in the bogs were kind of cool and some pinecones that caught the light just right and a tiny fuzzy nest close to home.   It's going to be a long winter unless things start jumping out at me! hahah

Three Winter Sisters

A TINY nest waaaaaay up in the tree in front of the house -  I noticed that little bit of white fluff on the edge of the nest -  WOW -  it survived a few snowfalls -  this nest is MOVE IN READY!

Stopped to Locate a Woodpecker and...

 Made a friend!

I stopped for a few minutes when I heard the drumming.   I was on West Bay Ave -  so cars were going by and music was playing, but I heard him across the 4 lane street -  and I heard him LOUDLY!

I finally did locate him, but he was small and it was too far to photograph with my phone -  and then I saw someone watching me!  A new FRIEND!!
He was on the left, on the right, up a little, back down, up again... ALWAYS checking on me!

Hello!

This is Mount PinkSalt!  I pass it every day -  I actually took some for my own walkway.

There were other things today.  Some salt designs -  I saw turtles -  others did not!

And this needs a story. VENUS in the west.

The story is Kevin messaged me to let me know that I had to go out and look west to see it!  Warms my heart!  We also went on to discuss the fact that there were NO OTHER PLANETS, STARS, NOTHING in the west -  but Venus.
Turn around!!  Orion, stars and MARS.   This planetary alighment is turning out to be fun!

Birds In the Morning and Shooting Salt in the Afternoon!

 25

25000

The temps are finally above freezing -  NOT MUCH, but above 32 degrees.

This morning I caught the sun lighting up the bird feeder -  "We'll leave the light on" came to mind!  Had a bunch of birds at the feeder -  thanks to Jackson and Cole filling it yesterday!  (NO LADDER NEEDED

You can JUSSSST make out the feeded with the upper portion lighted!

My friend the Tufted Titmouse

Picture the night sky-  and meteors streaking across much to the wonderment of all

(or - a driveway over salted for the storm)

There was one more bird of note -  I'll have to get it off the camera (rather than the phone) so... maybe tomorrow, annie.
Oooh. It already transferred to the phone so I can upload directly to the blog!

Miss Cardinal!

Didn't Walk. Didn't Photograph Anything Outdoors

 24

24000

Too cold to walk and we needed to shop.  Shopping "these days" has become overwhelming to me.  Some day when I don't have photos, I'll write the full reason... for now, just believe me.

OK.  Two out of three visitors -  worth MUCH MORE THAN 1000 words.  Every other Friday, Kristen and the boys come for dinner.  Tonight she brought homemade ziti and a salad -  we had garlic bread also. SO boring. But so lucky!!   The boys jump in to help -  filling the bird feeder -  making the chocolate candy - setting the table - even vacuuming the stairs!  It's all so boring, but all so wonderful!

The pic of Jackson didn't come out -  he was standing right under the light... oh well.  There will be more Fridays!

hahaha  -  if she only knew! hahahahahah

AHHHH. It's Yesterday, Once More.

 23

23000

This is going to be a journey, for sure!

YESTERDAY (ugh, yes, I had the photo and never logged on) I took a very late walk.  It's ridiculously COLD -  we're finally getting a break, SOON, I believe.  It was single digits again.  There wasn't much to photograph -  the sky was gorgeous, but the path was treacherous... so just some crap photos -  boy this is turning into something very boring!

Here's the sky.

enjoy.

Yesterday, Once More. And WHO KNOWS about Today?!?

 22

This picture is really only worth ONE word, I guess -  but there's not way I'm doing the math!

Out of Order. This is for 1/20/25

Total Blackout

Out of Order.  This is for 1/20/25

Today's Memory of Yesterday

21

21000 (I'm not going to be able to do the math soon lol)

Today's Memory of Yesterday, when I Failed to Post

So the self proclaimed King of the United States -  the 34 count felon - was inducted into the kingdom of Sodom and Gomorrah yesterday and I failed to post.  I had my head stuck in the sand for most of the day and when asked "Did you watch"  I simply replied...  "Oh, that was today?"

Four years of nonsense, although I refuse to be a part of it,  unless he dies and his moron veep takes over -  then it will still be four years of nonsense, but with a different head idiot.

So -  I'll watch my feeder and take my walks.  This was yesterday in the FREEZING temps.

Snow is on the Way?

19

19000

The forecast is pushing the snow later and later -  it's snowing by the boys, but nothing here yet.  I got my walk in along with a trip to Acme.  Laundry is folded, dishwasher empty, etc etc etc... and here is my photo of the day.  One happy, pretty one and one sad one.

What makes this sad?   It was NOT the only feather -
there were a few... in bunches.

On Time, but not worth 1000

This morning was warmer than it has been in a while -  but there was NOTHING to snap a picture of -  it was cloudy, so no sunrise, it was dull and dank... so here it is!

A Walk in the Woods

17
17000

After some really COLD days, today was a glorious 40 degrees!  Off to the woods!

All the trees and blue skies and to top it off...
a White-Breasted Nut Hatch!

So now, look into my crystal ball... what do you see for tomorrow???  R.A.I.N. ugh.

Yeah. This is for YESTERDAY

 16

16000

So I got burned trying to catch the moonset over the last couple days... I carried my camera on my entire walk.  Today I said... I'M NOT GOING TO BE FOOLED INTO CARRYING THAT CAMERA TODAY... I opened the front door. BOOM.

GOOD MORNING MOON!

And this is just a pretty picture

Today Was a Video Day - but not here!

 14

14000

Spent the day looking at (first fixing my computer and going up and down and up ad down the stairs for various headphones etc) Aunt Florence's MP4 file of old Oltmer/Lachaussee films from early 1900 through the end of the 50s.  WHAT FUN!

But I DID take a walk.  And I DID take a photo or two.  Again, it was C.O.L.D. and windy... but walking is good for EVERYTHING!

So, I Better Do This Now!

13

13000

Today, only ONE picture.  There were plenty of things to look at -  the weed-beans, wishy-weeds and the TALL weeds... but nothing outstanding.   This is a picture of the beautiful mountains of our town lol

There is a little side story to tell -  it combines photos from the last few days.

I will let the photos tell the story, but KNOW that he didn't melt -  he left when he realized that she was way too far out of his league.

Again. LOL. I. AM. THE. WORST.

12

12000

So, again I missed posted when I had a photo!

Here they are in all it's YESTERDAY's glory!

Patty's BIRTHDAY SUNRISE!
Happy 70someoddTH Birthday!

This is the Ice Footprint Superhero I saw on my walk.
I'm always on the lookout for interesting things!

Coffee And...

 11

1100

... BIRDS!

Birds were on the feeder again today!  HOORAY!  There were Dark-eyed Juncos, Song Sparrows, one Downy Woodpecker and one Cardinal.

A little after the feeder feast, a few Robins joined me for coffee.

Another Cold One

10

10000

Another fight with the wind this morning.

Trash out early -  then the walk.  There were no escaping cardboard boxes like yesterday's Recycle Extravaganza, but one little "trash cube thing" kept blowing away from it's spot on the curb.

The walk, on the other hand was nice.  Cold, but nice.

Mr. Peanut or Nutter Butter?

You be the judge!
